Xinhua, October 28, 2016 Adjust font size:

Industrial production in Macedonia saw a 5.4-percent growth in the period from January to September 2016, compared to the same period in 2015, Macedonia's state statistical office said Friday.

The positive performance of the industrial sector was mainly driven by the growth in September in the mining and quarrying production sector of 0.3 percent, in the manufacturing sector of 4.7 percent, and in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply sector which increased by 21.5 percent, as official data showed.

Industrial production by main industrial groupings in September grew more in the energy sector (6.2 percent), capital goods (26.7 percent) and durable consumer goods (72.4 percent), according to data.

But production was lower in intermediate goods, except energy, with 1.0 percent and non-durable consumer goods with 2.3 percent, the state's statistical office said. Endit
