Boeing to set up 737 completion center in east China

Xinhua, October 28, 2016 Adjust font size:

Boeing will set up a completion center and delivery center for its 737 planes in Zhoushan City of east China's Zhejiang Province, sources with the company said Friday.

The Zhejiang Provincial Government, the Boeing Company, and Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd.(COMAC) signed a framework agreement on Friday. The completion center will be Boeing's first overseas facility as part of its 737 production system.

It will consist of two parts: the 737 completion center, a joint venture of Boeing and COMAC; and the 737 delivery center owned by Boeing.

The joint venture will install aircraft interiors, including flight entertainment equipment and seats, paint and provide repair and maintenance services for the 737.

Through the delivery center, 737s will reach Chinese customers.

Boeing's move will significantly expand its cooperation with the aviation industry in China and support the capacity increase of the Boeing 737 assembly line. Endi
