NATO concludes exercise Detonator 2016 in Latvia

NATO wrapped up its exercise Detonator 2016 on Friday, an annual exercise to seek and destroy conventional munitions in Latvia, the organization said in a press release.

The 10-day multinational exercise began on Oct. 16 in a former ammunition storage facility in central Latvia.

It was a tactical level exercise for land force, national guards, and engineering units.

The aim of the exercise was to clear the territory of the former ammunition storage facility and practice cooperation with specialists from other countries.

Participants included more than 140 soldiers from Latvia, Denmark, Estonia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway, Germany, Belgium and Sweden. Endit
