Spain's vehicle production rises by 7.9 pct in Jan-Sept

The number of vehicles manufactured in Spain rose by 7.9 percent in the first nine months of the year when compared with the same period of a year earlier, according to data released on Tuesday by the Association of Car Manufacturers (ANFAC).

ANFAC said a total of 2,220,722 vehicles were manufactured in the first nine months of the year, while in September alone, the sector produced 258,053 vehicles, "almost 12,000 vehicles per day."

From January to September, the sector produced 1,773,934 cars, 33,987 four-wheeled vehicles and 412,801 commercial and industrial vehicles.

Regarding exports, a total of 214,337 vehicles were shipped to other countries in September alone, an 8.37-percent fall when compared with September 2015.

Meanwhile, 1,849,205 vehicles were shipped to other countries in the first nine months of the year, 8.44 percent more than in the same period of a year earlier. Endit
