Ukraine advances in World Bank business ranking: president

Xinhua, October 26, 2016 Adjust font size:

Ukraine climbed by three notches to the 80th place in a latest World Bank's Doing Business ranking, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said here on Tuesday.

"The rise of Ukraine is an assessment of the efforts we are making to carry out reforms in the country," Poroshenko said during the meeting of the National Council on Reforms.

The advancement was achieved as Ukraine in the past year has made progress in terms of paying taxes, protecting minority investors and enforcing contracts, Poroshenko said.

Last year, Ukraine went up by four notches to the 83rd place in the ranking, which evaluates how easy it is to conduct business in 190 global economies in reference to 10 indicators. Endit
