After the Senate's approval on Wednesday, Czech Chamber of Deputies agreed on Thursday that a group of Czech military doctors and instructors will leave for Iraq and join the operation against the Islamic State.

The group will have 30 people maximally. The 17-strong surgical team, which will be comprised of surgeons, an anaesthesiologist and nurses, is to leave for Iraq in December, the instructors will follow them next year.

The military doctors will operate in the U.S. Navy's hospital, 70 km south of Mosul. They will treat wounded coalition and Iraqi soldiers. The U.S. hospital will provide medical supply.

The proposal was supported by almost all deputies present except a few opponents.

The Czech Republic has already sent aviation instructors to Iraq to train pilots for Czech-made L-159 combat planes. It has also supplied weapons and ammunition to armed forces there. Endit
