China, the top buyer of U.S. Treasury securities, cut its holding in August for three months running, the latest data from the U.S. Treasury Department showed on Tuesday.

China shed its treasuries holding by 33.7 billion U.S. dollars in August, with the total holding down to 1.1851 trillion U.S. dollars. It has cut its treasuries holding for three consecutive months. (China-U.S. -Treasury Holding)

BUENOS AIRES -- Chinese electronics giant TCL Corporation plans to invest 100 million U.S. dollars in Argentina over the next 12 months, Argentina's government announced on Tuesday.

The announcement followed a meeting between Argentine President Mauricio Macri and the CEO of TCL, Li Dongsheng, at the presidential headquarters and residence in Argentina's capital Buenos Aires. (Argentina-China-Investment)

ADDIS ABABA -- A cornerstone-laying ceremony was conducted on Tuesday to establish a Chinese-invested pharmaceutical plant in Dukem town, about 40 km south of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia's capital.

With an investment of 85 million U.S. dollars from a Chinese firm based in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, the plant, Sansheng Ethiopia Pharmaceuticals Plc, when completed, is expected to have a production capacity of 10 billion tablets, 5 billion capsules and 40 million parenterals. PHNOM PENH -- Cambodia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Agricultural Development with a Chinese company from east China's Shandong province on Wednesday.

The deal was inked between Veng Sakhon, Cambodian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery, and Shen Chen, chairman of Tian Rui (Cambodia) Agricultural Cooperation Special Economic Zone. (Cambodia-China-Agriculture)

VIENTIANE -- A children's camp themed "Chinese Culture Park - Lao Camp" opened Tuesday in the Lao capital Vientiane, aiming to promote Chinese culture.
