National flag-carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines ban Samsung's Galaxy Note 7

Xinhua, October 19, 2016 Adjust font size:

Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has banned carrying Samsung Galaxy Note 7 devices on all of the flights of national flag-carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines on passenger safety grounds.

In a press release issued on Wednesday, the regulatory body said the ban has been imposed in view of recent reports about Samsung Galaxy Note 7 devices.

"The ban is effective immediately," a CAAB official told Xinhua in a further clarification.

The official who did not like to be named said passengers have been requested not to carry this smartphone during Biman flights.

Many airlines around the world have already banned Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 smartphone concerns their batteries could explode or catch fire. Endit
