-- The Presidency on Tuesday night said that the government of President Muhammadu Buhari would never victimize anyone for whatever reason.

It however stated that the law must run its full course on anyone who breaks it, stressing that the current administration would never be cowed from its anti-corruption war. (Vanguard)

-- The Senate on Tuesday urged all the parties in the negotiation that led to the release of 21 of the Chibok girls to ensure that other hostages in Boko Haram's captivity were rescued.

The upper chamber of the National Assembly, while thanking those who negotiated the release of the 21 schoolgirls, noted that a large number of abductions by the group were not reported, adding that the negotiators should look beyond the Chibok girls to rescue more victims. (The Punch)

-- India and Nigeria are in talks on signing an agreement in December by which India will invest in refineries, as well as in exploration and production of oil and gas in the African country, the Indian petroleum ministry said on Monday.

Petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan held talks in the capital on Monday with Nigerian minister of state for petroleum Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, who is on a three-day official visit to India. (Daily Trust)
