The XIII International specialized exhibition entitled "Arms and Security" , which has recently opened at the International Exhibition Centre (IEC) in the Ukrainian capital, attracted exhibitors from 12 countries, the press service of the IEC said Thursday.

"The exhibition, which is held in the area of 21,000 square meters, has drawn about 300 companies from 12 countries," Sergey Markov, the head of the IEC' s press service, told Xinhua.

The delegation of Poland was the largest among foreign exhibitors, showcasing products made by 15 industry players, he said.

The Ukrainian state-run defense company Ukroboronprom said earlier it has put on display 237 pieces of locally-produced weapons and military equipment, ranging from small arms to armoured military vehicles.

The zest of the exposition is a Ukrainian-made multipurpose unmanned armoured vehicle "Phantom" , which is designed for transporting ammunition through mined areas and evacuating wounded soldiers from battlefields.

The Ukroboronprom has also unveiled its new unmanned aerial complexes "Anser", which are capable of flying for up to 12 hours with a load capacity of 5 kilograms of cargo.

The four-day exhibition, which kicked off on Tuesday, also features hunting, sporting and historical weapons, as well as personal equipment of soldiers and police forces.

The exposition runs through Oct. 14. Endit
