Madrid legend Di Stefano to have street named in his honor

Real Madrid legend, Alfredo di Stefano is to have a street named in his honor the Madrid City Hall confirmed on Thursday.

Town Hall Spokesperson, Rita Maestre said the street would be in the 'Valdefuentes' neighborhood, close to the Real Madrid training ground at Valdebebas, to the north of the city.

Maestre said she was "excited" at being able to give the news, adding that the proposal had been agreed unanimously by the local authority.

Di Stefano is considered to be one of the greatest players of all time and the former honorary club President led Real Madrid to five European Cups in the 1960's died on July 7th 2014 at the age of 88 years old.

He made 398 appearances for Madrid, scoring 305 goals and played 31 times for Spain, as well as also competing at international level for Colombia and his native Argentina. Endit
