China and Cambodia on Thursday vowed to increase military ties and contribute to regional peace and stability.

The pledge was made during a meeting between Vice Chairman of China's Central Military Commission Fan Changlong and visiting Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Tea Banh from Cambodia.

Hailing the two countries as true friends, Fan expressed the Chinese people's appreciation of the Cambodian government's support for China's core interests and major concerns.

China is willing to deepen cooperation with Cambodia to both safeguard the national security of the two countries and contribute to regional peace and stability, Fan said.

Tea Banh appreciated China's support for Cambodia's economic and social development and expressed hope to beef up bilateral exchanges and cooperation to boost relations between the two countries and military forces. Endi
