Five local officials under investigation for accepting bribes

Five local officials are under investigation on suspicion of accepting bribes, the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) said on Saturday.

The Hebei provincial procuratorate in north China has approved the arrest of Ding Yinghui, former inspector of the Hebei provincial committee of the Communist Party of China.

The Shandong provincial procuratorate has approved the arrest of Li Xuehai, former political advisor of Qingdao City, Li Xuezhang, deputy head of Zhengzhou Railway Bureau, and Li Jun, former official with the State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation.

Lu Chunjie, former mayor of Chaozhou City in south China's Guangdong Province, is under investigation on suspicion of taking bribes and has been placed under "coercive measures," which may include summons by force, bail, residential surveillance, detention and arrest, according to the SPP.
