Busquets signs new Barca deal until 2021

Xinhua, September 22, 2016 Adjust font size:

FC Barcelona confirmed on Thursday that Spain international midfielder, Sergio Busquets has extended his contract with the club until the end of June 2021 with the option for that to be extended by a further two years.

Busquets has made 250 league appearances in a total of 390 matches with the Barcelona first team after graduating through their youth system.

During that time he has won six League and three Champions League titles, as well as four Spanish Cups and numerous Spanish and European Supercups.

The new contract includes a buyout clause and means the midfielder will almost certainly see out his entire career with the club he made his debut for in September 2008.

Busquets was substituted just five minutes into the second half of Barca's 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night suffering from a fever, but will be fit to travel to play Sporting Gijon on Saturday night in the sixth round of matches of the new season. Endit
