France's enterprise births grow by 1.6 pct in August:Insee

The births of new enterprise in France reported a 1.6-percent growth in August after falling two consecutive months, French national statistics bureau Insee said on Tuesday.

Enterprise births rose by 1.1 percent excluding self-managed enterprises compared to July data, according to the seasonally and working-day adjusted data. When including the number of self-managed enterprises, France registered 46,295 new firms last month, up from 45,576 recorded a month earlier.

For the June-August period, the number of enterprise births rose by 4.8 percent from the same period last year following growing activities of the transport sector.

In its monthly report, Insee noted two out of five enterprise births were self-managed enterprises. Endit
