Top legislature chairpersons' meeting held on election fraud

The National People's Congress (NPC)Standing Committee chairpersons' meeting has scheduled the 23rd session of the 12th NPC Standing Committee for Tuesday to discuss the handling of election fraud in northeast Liaoning Province, according to a statement.

Zhang Dejiang, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, presided over the meeting.

The purpose of Tuesday's session is to "implement decisions of the Communist Party of China Central Committee regarding election fraud in Liaoning, and fulfill duties of the NPC Standing Committee," according to the statement.

The NPC Standing Committee session usually convenes every two months, but also can be convened provisionally when there is a particular demand. Endit
