-- A lawyers' association in Zambia has urged people to have confidence in the judiciary as an arm of government mandated to uphold justice and the rule of law.

The judiciary has come under attack in the wake of the Constitutional Court's dismal handling of a petition by main opposition leader that was challenging the re-election of President Edgar Lungu. Stakeholders have since raised complaints to the Judicial Complaints Authority over the conduct of the judges, with some saying they should be removed from the court. (Zambia Daily Mail)

-- Zambia's public procurement agency said its electronic procurement system has recorded a success since its launch in July this year.

Zambia Public Procurement Authority director-general Chibelushi Musongole said the launch of the Electronic Government Procurement would enhance transparency, fairness and accountability in the procurement process.

He said the agency has been conducting training to help suppliers and public officers learn to use the system efficiently as well as sensitization campaigns which would ensure that the public sector was ready for full implementation of the system next year. (Daily Nation) Endit
