The following are highlights of South African major media outlets on Saturday.

-- Fund manager Abax Investments has reduced bond purchases from South African state-owned firms in the past three years due to concerns over their weaker performance, a portfolio manager said on Friday. (Business Day)

-- It is unfair to expect social partners such as those in the labour environment to achieve stability when the government itself cannot maintain a stable state, said Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Ramaphosa was speaking at the 21st Annual National Economic Development and Labour Council Summit held in Boksburg near Johannesburg on Friday. Given reports in the media, Ramaphosa said there is an impression of a lack of coherence within the government and institutions which are in a state of "open conflict". (News24)

-- Johannesburg mayor Herman Mashaba has accused the African National Congress of being behind the illegal invasion of land in the city. He was briefing the media following several land invasion activities in Johannesburg.
