IFA 2016 opens in Berlin

IFA 2016, the world's leading trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances, kicked off in the German capital city of Berlin on Friday.

As one of the oldest industrial exhibitions in Germany since 1924, it has attracted 1,823 exhibitors worldwide this year with a year-on-year increase of 13 percent.

For the first time, an additional exhibition space called Global Markets has been set particularly for trade visitors besides the main venue in ExpoCenter City for all visitors.

Over 700 Chinese companies have taken part in IFA 2016 with their latest product highlights and services. The traditional event has witnessed a substantial growth of Chinese participants these years, according to Jens Heithecker, IFA's Executive Director.

The organizer has also arranged a series of keynote speeches concerning smart kitchen, connected cars, virtual reality and internet of things, which will be brought by senior executives from prominent enterprises including Mercedes-Benz, IBM, AMD etc.

IFA 2016 will last from Sept. 2 to 7 in ExpoCenter City, and the Global Markets will be held at Station Berlin from Sept. 4 to 7. Endit
