militants gun down 2 police in Afghanistan

Armed militants opened fire and killed two police personnel in Taliban former stronghold southern Kandahar province on Wednesday, police spokesman in the province Zia Durani said.

According to the official, two militants riding a motorbike opened fire on police patrol in Kandahar provincial capital the Kandahar city at noon time killing two police personnel on the spot and made their good escape.

Although no group has claimed responsibility for it, the official pointed finger at the enemies of peace, a reference to the Taliban militants for organizing the bloody attack. Enditem
