The following are news highlights of Ethiopia's major media outlets on Tuesday.

-- The Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it has been working to secure the release of 438 Ethiopian migrants jailed in Zambia and Zimbabwe prisons.

The migrants were detained while trying to illegally enter South Africa via Zambia and Zimbabwe, it was indicated. African Affairs Director with the ministry, Girma Temesgen told ENA that the government is in contact with the two countries to get the prisoners released. (Ethiopian News Agency/ENA)

-- The government of Ethiopia said it has brought under control the attempts made to expand violence in some parts of Oromia and Amhara Regional States.

There were attempts to stage unauthorized demonstrations in the two states on Saturday, rejecting the warning from the people and the government, Government Communication Affairs Office (GCAO) said in a statement. (Fana Broadcasting Corporate/FBC)
