Xinhua, August 1, 2016 Adjust font size:

Israeli military forces said on Monday they have arrested a "major" Palestinian weapons dealer.

A military spokesperson said Borhan Rashad Knaza, a member of the Palestinian National Authority security service, was detained during an overnight raid in the West Bank city of Nablus.

No other details were provided on the arrest.

The arrest came amid a wave of violence since mid-September 2015, which has killed at least 219 Palestinians and 34 Israelis.

Israeli authorities said seven weapons manufacturing machines have been uncovered and seized in the area of Nablus so far this year. Endit
