Xinhua, August 1, 2016 Adjust font size:

Macao's games of fortune recorded about 17.8 billion patacas (about 2.2 billion U.S. dollars) gross revenue in July, registering a drop of 4.5 percent year on year.

The special administrative region's Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau published the monthly revenue information on its website on Monday.

According to the data, games of fortune has a gross revenue of about 17.8 billion patacas in July 2016, while the revenue of July 2015 was 18.6 billion patacas.

In terms of accumulated annual revenue, games of fortune recorded 125.6 billion patacas in the first seven months of 2016, 10.5 percent less than the revenue made in first seven months of 2015.

However, July's revenue was higher than that of June which stood at about 15.9 billion patacas.

And the dropping momentum of this figure has slowed down since March, as the decrease percentages were 16.3, 9.5, 9.6, 8.5 and 4.5 respectively from March to July of 2016.

Games of fortune is the most important category in Macao's gaming industry, as it generates most part of gaming revenue.
