Guangzhou Evergrande into CFA Cup semis

Guangzhou Evergrande reached the semifinals after edging past Beijing Guoan 2-1 in the second leg of the Chinese Football Association (CFA) Cup quarterfinals here on Tuesday.

Holding a 2-1 advantage after the first leg, Guangzhou only needed a draw to make it to the last four. But Yu Dabao scored in the 22nd minute to pull Beijing level on aggregate.

Paulinho's header helped Guangzhou equalize in the 36th minute and regain the advantage.

Guangzhou killed the game early in the second half as Gao Lin volleyed the ball into the back of net in the 47th minute. Endit
