Albania's industry decreased by 2.02 percent in the first quarter of 2016 compared with the same period of 2015, signaling a slowdown in industrial development, the Albanian Daily News newspaper reported on Monday.

The agriculture, forestry and fishing sector also saw a slight decrease of 0.27 percent in the first quarter of 2016 compared with the same period of last year, the newspaper reported, citing data from the National Statistics Institute.

However, activities in some specific sectors including construction, trade, information and entertainment gained greater development momentum during the first three months on a year-on-year basis.

In particular, the information and communication sector registered a year-on-year growth of 14.58 percent in the first quarter of 2016. Endi
