Singapore stocks close 0.18 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 5.26 points, or 0.18 percent, to close at 2,940.48.

A total of 965.9 million shares changed hands with turnover of 1.05 billion Singapore dollars (772.1 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 215 to 209, while 481 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 26.2 points, or 0.9 percent, to close at 2,945.74 on Wednesday. Endit
