Turkish gendarmerie close Istanbul Bosphorus bridges

Turkey's gendarmerie on Friday night closed the two bridges that connect Istanbul's Asian and European parts over the Bosphorus Strait, Turkish media reported.

The move came amid extraordinary security measures, the Haberturk daily reported.

Fighter jets were flying low and tanks were seen on the bridges, according to CNNTurk. Endit
