The JSE closes with gains across the board on Friday

Share prices on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) were higher on Friday, after the terrorist attack in France on Thursday night.
The JSE all share index closed 0.48 percent higher to 53,088.46 points on Friday, while the blue-chip Top 40 index gained 0.39 percent to 46,454.35 points.
The Resources index was 0.16 percent softer while the Financial index gained 0.44 percent, with the Industrial index, which includes most of the big dual-listed shares ,only 0.57 percent stronger.
European investors were also caught off-guard after the Bank of England decided to keep interest rates unchanged but promised some stimulus measures later on.
A US dollar cost R14.34, a British pound cost R18.94 and a euro cost R15.88 at 5:00 pm close.
While gold dropped 0.55 percent to $1326.92 an ounce.
Among the top resources shares Anglo American traded 1.17percent lower at R 158.24,
British American Tobacco shed 2.33 percent to R123.39 while BHP Billiton gave up 0.54 percent to R 189.14.
Luxury goods company Richemont attracted much attention as the shares of European luxury goods firms fell 2.87 percent to R84.20 on Friday. The world's biggest watchmaker warned its first-half profit would drop by 50 percent to 60 percent.
SABMiller gained 0.33 percent to R 835.35, but Impala Platinum Holdings climbed 3.94 percent to R54.36. Endit
