China introduces targeted supportive policies for revolutionary bases

Xinhua, June 29, 2016 Adjust font size:

The Chinese central government on Wednesday unveiled a series of targeted policies to help economic growth in revolutionary bases across the provinces of Sichuan and Shaanxi.

"Revolutionary bases must pursue development as a priority," according to a statement released following a State Council executive meeting, chaired by Premier Li Keqiang.

The government will speed up infrastructure construction including utilities and transportation in these areas and extend Internet coverage to all villages by 2020.

New materials, high-end equipment manufacturing and tourism shall be prioritized for loans.

The relatively-developed eastern provinces should provide enhanced assistance. Besides, the central government will gradually increase financial support to these revolutionary bases, according to the statement. Endi
