Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and the Islamic Hamas movement on Wednesday both condemned the terrorist attack against Istanbul's Ataturk Airport.

Turkish and international media reported that at least 36 people were killed and several others were injured in the bombing attacks against Ataturk international airport on Tuesday evening.

President Abbas communicated in an official statement aired by WAFA official new agency his deep condolences to the Turkish people and to the victims' families.

The Palestinian National Authority (PNA) Ministry of Foreign Affairs also said in an emailed press statement that "we condemn the cowardly terrorist attack which targeted Turkey's innocent people at the airport."

"Palestinians condemn all forms of terrorism and those who support it," said the statement, which then called on the international community to cooperate in order to combat global terrorism.

Meanwhile, Sami Abu Zuhri, Hamas's spokesman in Gaza said in an emailed press statement that Hamas condemns the terrorist attack which killed and wounded throngs of people.

"Hamas extends its absolute solidarity with the people of Turkey in the face of this despicable crime which targeted Turkey's stability. The attack is an attempt to impede Turkey from developing and functioning effectively as a nation," he said. Endit
