Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday strongly condemned the fatal attack at the Ataturk airport in Istanbul and called for a joint effort against terrorism.
"All civilized nations must stand together to fight the scourge of terrorism," he said in a statement released on his behalf.
The gun and bomb attack on Tuesday night killed at least 41 people and wounded 230 others.
No organization has taken responsibility for the attack yet.
Also on Wednesday, Israeli President Reuven Rivlin sent a letter of condolence to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, saying he wishes the renewed dialogue following the Israel-Turkey reconciliation deal "will greatly aid in our joint efforts against this threat."
The deal, signed Tuesday after six years of diplomatic crisis between the two former allies, includes resumption of cooperation between Turkey and Israel. Endit
