Editor's note: People might easily lose heart while in the hustle and bustle of life in the big city. There is no doubt that people sometimes drift away from their dreams.
The eighth SELF (Science, Education, Life and Future) forum kicked off on June 20 in Beijing in a bid to popularize its lecturers' ideas on exploring the natural world while maintaining the pursuit of their dreams.
To Outdo Myself

Cai, a victim of visual impairment during early childhood, has never allowed the remainder of his life to be worthless. From sitting for the National College Entrance Examination to establishing the OPO Group, Cai expressed that people can challenge themselves and do more despite setbacks and limitations.
"People used to say the poor just have no choice in life, unlike the rich. However, limitations like poverty are what we can change," said Cai.
"Most people think that the visually-impaired have no chance to enjoy a great career by any other means than being a blind masseur, a nationally recognized practice that has openly existed in China. However, a tour experience to an American blind school reinforced my belief in making changes, where children with disabilities were inspired to innovate," recalled Cai.
