Lionel Messi broke Argentina's all-time goal-scoring record on Tuesday as Argentina beat the United States 4-0 to enter the Copa America final.

Messi scored on a free kick in the 32nd minute, breaking Argentina's all-time scoring record set by Gabriel Batistuta (54) with his 55th international goal.

"This was the goal when we got here, to play another final and we made it," Messi said. "We've been spectacular from day one and we deserved this."

Argentina enjoyed a dream start as Lavezzi headed the ball over Brad Guzan in the third minute before Messi doubled the score.

Higuain scored in the 50th minute as he put the rebound of his initial shot past Guzan and he scored again with a pass from Messi in the 86th minute. Endit
