Singapore stocks close 0.21 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 5.92 points, or 0.21 percent, to close at 2,774.25.

A total of 1.08 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 772.1 million Singapore dollars (570.2 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 193 to 170, while 541 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 17.10 points, or 0.61 percent, to close at 2,768.33 on Tuesday. Enditem
