Denmark beats Slovakia 4-0 in women's Euro 2017 qualifier

Denmark topped Slovakia 4-0 Thursday in a qualifying match for women' s Euro 2017 at the Energi Viborg Stadium in Viborg, Denmark.

Danish striker Pernille Harder opened the scoring after 28 minutes into the game and Nadia Nadim knocked in a header to 2-0 after 3 minutes into the second half.

Ten minutes later a penalty from Nadim brought the score to 3-0 and from then on the home side completely controlled the game. In the last few seconds Sanne Troelsgaard scored to seal the victory at 4-0 for Denmark.

The triumph saw Denmark climb to the second of Group 4, five points behind leaders Sweden and one ahead of Slovakia.

Danish women will play their next home game against Poland at the Energi Viborg Stadium on June 7. The eight group winners and seven runners-up will join host nation Holland in the finals. Endit
