Dollar trades in mid-109 yen zone as deals open in Tokyo

The U.S. dollar changed hands in the mid-109 yen zone in early deals in Tokyo on Thursday morning, with the levels principally the same with those seen overnight in New York.

At 9 a.m., the dollar was quoted at 109.41-43 yen compared with 109.48-58 yen in New York and 110.05-06 yen at 5 p.m. on Wednesday in Tokyo.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1190-1191 and 122.42-43 yen against 1.1183-1193 dollars and 122.45-55 yen in New York and 1.1152-1153 dollars and 122.73-77 yen on Wednesday in Tokyo in late trade. Enditem
