Defense ministers from Cote d'Ivoire and Guinea on Monday expressed willingness by both countries to reinforce their military cooperation to effectively fight against terrorism.
"We are two friendly neighbouring countries. We share the same concerns in matters of security and it is important that we come together to fight this scourge that is threatening our region," Cote d'Ivoire's Defense Minister Alain Donwahi said during his meeting in Abidjan with Guinea's Defense Minister Mohamed Diane.
Donwahi said common security needs and sharing of experiences between the two countries were "crucial."
Guinea's defense minister said the two countries had achieved "fruitful results" in terms of sharing experiences on army reforms.
Diane said harmonization of actions will guarantee success of strategies deployed against terrorism, and will restore lasting peace along Cote d'Ivoire-Guinea border. Enditem
