Singapore stocks close 0.20 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 5.69 points, or 0.20 percent, to close at 2,791.06.

A total of 1.40 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.97 billion Singapore dollars (1.43 billion U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 220 to 168, while 524 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 5.76 points, or 0.21 percent, to close at 2,796.75 on Monday. Endit
