Xinhua, May 21, 2016 Adjust font size:

Casualties were feared as a suicide car bombing hit a foreign forces' military convoy in Afghanistan's eastern province of Parwan on Saturday, a provincial government spokesman said.

The attack took place in Qala-e-Nasro area of Bagram District roughly at 10:00 a.m. local time, Wahid Seddiqi told Xinhua.

"The explosion occurred after a militant detonated an explosive-laden sedan near the military convoy. So far, we have no more details, but we will try to get more information," Seddiqi said.

A main U.S. and NATO-led forces' base is located in the district in the province 55 km north of Afghan capital of Kabul.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.

The area has been cordoned off by the troops for precautionary measures. Endit
