Chinese medical consultation app receives record financing

A website providing users with instant consulting with doctors has received 500 million U.S. dollars in A round financing, the single largest sum in China's online medical field, the company behind the site announced on Thursday.

Ping An Good Doctors, under Ping An Insurance, is valued at 3 billion U.S. dollars after the financing.

Investors include domestic and overseas private equity funds, state-owned enterprises and financial institutions. The investment has been fully paid, the company said.

The Ping An Good Doctors mobile app, launched in April of 2015, has over 77 million registered users.

The company has hired 1,000 full-time doctors and 50,000 on a part-time basis.

Ping An Good Doctors CEO Wang Tao said the company was providing an efficient use of medical resources. Endi
