Singapore stocks close 0.14 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 4.00 points, or 0.14 percent, to close at 2,777.11.

A total of 1.93 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.06 billion Singapore dollars (767.1 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 192 to 176, while 540 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 45.05 points, or 1.65 percent, to close at 2,781.11 on Tuesday. Endit
