SPP vows telecom fraud crackdown

Xinhua, May 17, 2016 Adjust font size:

The Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) has vowed a harsh crackdown on telecom scams.

Telecom fraud has posed a great threat to social stability as well as people's property and rights, the SPP said in a statement on Tuesday, urging procurators across the country to handle each case in strict accordance with the law.

Procurators should conduct the police to collect strong and sufficient evidence while dealing with complicated cases, approve the arrest of telecom fraud suspects in a timely manner, and rectify wrongdoing by judicial organs, according to the statement.

The SPP also ordered procurators to increase cooperation with local police, financial and telecom departments to grasp as much information about fraud cases as possible. Endi
