Macedonian police detain trafficker transporting 30 migrants

The Macedonian interior ministry on Monday said that a young man had been detained for illegally transporting around 30 migrants through the country.

According to the interior ministry, police forces detained the young man on Sunday from Tanusevci village near the capital city of Skopje.

A Mercedes freight vehicle operated by a 23-year-old man did not stop for the police and, after a few kilometers, tried to escape along with his 20-year-old co-passenger. The police managed to capture the driver, but the second man managed to escape.

The interior ministry informed that police found inside the vehicle freight wagon about 30 migrants from Afghanistan, Iraq and Congo who police then detained. Endit
