Singapore's stocks close 1.34 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 37.01 points, or 1.34 percent, to close at 2,730.80.

A total of 967.3 million shares changed hands with turnover of 1.17 billion Singapore dollars (863.9 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 270 to 136, while 509 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 5.26 points, or 0.19 percent, to close at 2,767.81 on Thursday. Endit
