South Korea grab two golds at Asian fencing Championships

South Korea dominated the second-day competition of the Asian fencing Championships as they wrapped up two gold medals here on Thursday.

Host fencer Shen Chen failed to defend her title in the women's sabre individual. The world No. 3 lost to South Korea's Yoon Jisu 15-11 in the quarterfinals. World No. 17 Hwang Seona claimed the gold in a close final by beating China's Shao Yaqi 15-14.

In the men's epee individual, Park Kyoungdoo defeated his compatriot Park Sangyoung 15-8 in the final. Defending champion Jiao Yunlong, the only qualified Chinese player in the men's epee individual of the Rio Olympics, was upset by Jung Jinsun from South Korea 12-14 in the Round of 32. Endit
