Five Ghanaian athletes qualify for Rio Olympic Games

Five Ghanaian athletes have so far qualified to compete in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in August, the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) announced here on Wednesday.

Lifter Charles Narh Teye becomes the first Ghanaian Para athlete to make it to the 2016 Games, the National Paralympic Committee has confirmed.

Narh, who competed at the London 2012 Paralympic Games, will be making his second appearance at the Games.

He will be joined with boxer Abdul Wahid Omar, 800-meter runner Alex Amankwah, sprinter Sean Safo-Antwi, javelin thrower John Ampomah and Flings Joyner Owusu-Agyapong at the 2016 Olympics. Endit
