German police arrest 3 terrorist suspects in Ulm

Xinhua, April 14, 2016 Adjust font size:

German police have arrested three Islamic extremists who are suspected of terrorist financing in the area surrounding the German city of Ulm, local officials announced on Wednesday.

The men, aged 20 to 25 years, had sent collected money to jihadist fighters of Islamic State (IS), according to the Stuttgart public prosecutor.

The German investigators also believe that the persons detained wanted to join the armed battles themselves.

The three men have allegedly organized several Koran distribution campaigns as part of the controversial project "Lies."

Since late last year, travel bans had been imposed upon the three men who were arrested last Sunday.

On Monday, they were brought before the judge who issued arrest warrants. The three men have been in custody since then. Enditem
