Fraud fugitive on most wanted list arrested

Xinhua, April 14, 2016 Adjust font size:

A fugitive on a list of China's 10 most-wanted telecom- and Internet-fraud suspects has been seized by police, the Ministry of Public Security said on Wednesday.

Zhao Jianguo, 35, is accused of conspiring with others and cheating 81.72 million yuan (12.6 million U.S. dollars) out of a construction company based in the city of Dalian, northeast China's Liaoning Province on March 4, the ministry said in a statement.

The following day, Dalian police froze most of the money and seized three suspects, but Zhao had fled.

The ministry published the top 10 on Sunday, offering groups or individuals 50,000 yuan for information leading to the arrest of each suspect.

According to the ministry, Zhao has a record of fraud activities. Police found traces left by Zhao and arrested him on Tuesday in east China's Zhejiang Province.

Zhao was escorted back to Dalian and the case is under investigation, the ministry said. Endi
