British FTSE 100 rises 1.93 pct on Wednesday

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Wednesday rose by 1.93 percent, or 120.50 points, to 6,362.89 points.

Share price of Anglo American increased by 11.05 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips. Standard Chartered, BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto and Barclays increased by 10.64 percent, 9.18 percent, 7.60 percent and 7.16 percent respectively.

Tesco led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 7.79 percent, following by Wm Morrison Supermarkets (1.99 percent), Randgold Resources (1.24 percent), Imperial Brands (1.15 percent) and United Utilities Group (0.57 percent). Endit
