Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Monday sent a message of condolences to his Indian counterpart, Sushma Swaraj, over a deadly temple fire in the southern Indian state of Kerala.

Wang said he was shocked to learn of the tragedy that left many people dead and many others injured in the state of Kerala.

"I'd like to express to Your Excellency, and through Your Excellency to the victims and those injured, my profound condolences and heartfelt sympathies," said Wang.
